This is an outstanding young stallion we raised out of one of the best mares on the ranch, Tis Miss Joak. She is from the late Frank Carver's renowned horse program in Nebraska, branded with the 4 J. Laurie Carver used Tis Miss Joak's dam for pole bending and campaigned several of her siblings in barrel racing and other arena events. We have several of her offspring in our breeding program. Tis Joak's Leo, her sire, won the year-end title for the state of Oklahoma in GRA barrel racing and RCA calf roping. The sire of Tough San, Sonny Pep San, was a very consistent sire of versatility, speed and cow. He sired Performance Register of Merit, with point earners in Heading, Heeling, Working Cowhorse, and Reining. He also sired standouts in the rodeo arena, including Tom Hunt's calf roping and heeling horse, and other winners in calf roping, barrel racing, team roping, pole bending, and many excellent ranch and trail horses.

Tough San qualified for the AQHA World Show in 2006 in Working Cowhorse, and earned his Performance Register of Merit with points in working cowhorse and reining, and is making an outstanding heeling horse. He is smooth to ride, has a great mind, and is very fast with lots of natural cow. He is a full brother to Suzanna Joak, a 3/4 brother to OBRR stallion, Sugars Joak, and maternal brother to our great barrel racing mare and broodmare, Tis Miss Flit.
