 "Sonny Pep San was a powerful performance stallion with a great foundation and classic speed horse pedigree. His sire, Sonny Sugar, sired AQHA Register of Merit in roping & reining, reining futurity winners, as well as top rodeo money earners in calf roping, heading, heeling, breakaway, barrel racing, and NCHA cutting; he also sired winners in racing and halter. The dam of Sonny Pep San is Anna San, Dave Rosgen's outstanding cutting mare. A jet black daughter of World Champion, Mr San Peppy, she has won several thousand in cutting and has her NCHA Certificate of Ability.
 Sonny Pep San did a great job for us as a sire. "Little Sonny" put a good mind on his colts, along with plenty of muscle, bone, speed and cow. He sired a high percentage of colored colts, especially red dun, dun, grulla and black. Tom Hunt's good calf roping and heeling horse is a red dun gelding by Sonny Pep San; he is versatile, good-minded, smooth to ride, and fast. Sonny Pep San himself had a terrific mind; he was a talented calf roping horse, and had been used extensively on the ranch during calving in the spring and shipping calves in the fall. "Little Sonny" has sired Performance Register of Merit with points in Heading, Heeling, and Working Cowhorse, and his offsping are eligible for the 5 State Breeders Barrel Futurity.
