This is a big, straight, strong boned, athletic horse with good withers and feet, speed, and intelligence... he is a cowboy kind of horse! Sugars Joak was the high selling stud colt in our 1997 sale and was purchased by Rypkema Quarter Horses. They used him for team penning, ranch riding, but mainly as a herd sire. When Milo dispersed his mares last winter, we were fortunate to be able to buy Sugars Joak back. We really like his breeding ...double-bred Three Bars, Joe Reed, and Zantanon is potent genetics for rodeo or ranch! His sire is our Register of Merit sire, the late Sonny Sugar, and his dam, Tis Miss Joak, is one of the best mares we've owned; we have several of her daughters and another son, Tough San, in our breeding program. Sugars Joak is a paternal brother to Rafter Ranch sires Sonny Pep San, Diego Drift, and Laughing Sonny. We're looking forward to lots of good dun colts in 2007!
